Some of you ask me if I ever spend my free time on anything other than Substance Designer (valid question btw) and I swear I do! I'm working on my own WW2-themed board game called Day of Victory. Its going to be an app at some point, but for now, it's been too much fun developing it into a board game. After all, board games are what got me interested in game design in the first place. And as it turns out, there's a perfect use case for Substance Designer in creating the artwork of Day of Victory. One big component of the game is play cards. I wanted them too feel worn and old so I made this card generator in SD (which actually became the basis of my SD Fundamentals 5 tutorial).

I'm happy with the results, it really gives them that military feeling and I got to use Substance Designer for another project ;). If you're also a board gamer, follow Day of Victory on Facebook (facebook.com/dayofvictorygame) to read the development blog!
